Holly Tomas and Robert Burns

Holly Tomas performing “Ye Banks and Braes O’Bonnie Doon”

Robert Burns was not only a great poet, but was also a great lyricist. My favorite Burns song is his intensely bittersweet ‘Banks o’ Bonie Doon’ in a lovely, poignant rendition sung by Holly Tomas ( see YouTube video here) before a debilitating illness interrupted her life and singing career ( see article here ).

About poeticmeditations

A 19th-century romantic poet living in the 21st-century. The Romantic poets, nib pens, candlelight, waistcoats, and pocket watches are a few of my favorite things.
