Poem: “Pearls”

The redemptive power of words and poetry:

One eloquent word for all the awkward ones,
One refined word for all the vulgar ones,
One tender word for all the cruel ones,
One beautiful word for all the ugly ones,
One just word for all the unjust ones,
One true word for all the false ones,
One pure word for all the impure ones –
Strung together like polished pearls to form
One poem expressing the inexpressible.

About poeticmeditations

A 19th-century romantic poet living in the 21st-century. The Romantic poets, nib pens, candlelight, waistcoats, and pocket watches are a few of my favorite things.
