National Poetry Day

National Poetry Day

October 4th is National Poetry Day in Britain.  To find out what’s happening, check out the National Poetry Day site here.  This year’s theme is “stars” which allows for the perfect opportunity to showcase Robert Frost’s “Stars”.

                  Robert Frost

How countlessly they congregate
O’er our tumultuous snow,
Which flows in shapes as tall as trees
When wintry winds do blow!–

As if with keenness for our fate,
Our faltering few steps on
To white rest, and a place of rest
Invisible at dawn,–

And yet with neither love nor hate,
Those stars like some snow-white
Minerva’s snow-white marble eyes
Without the gift of sigh

About poeticmeditations

A 19th-century romantic poet living in the 21st-century. The Romantic poets, nib pens, candlelight, waistcoats, and pocket watches are a few of my favorite things.
