Original Poem: “Amber”

Amber is fossilized pine resin hundreds of years old and when cut and polished, is used to make jewelry.

Hardened, yellow pine resin buried centuries ago,
Found in only a few places scattered around the world,
But not as highly valued as gold or diamonds
Or in great demand like precious rare earth metals.
Yet, in skilled hands, it can become a thing of beauty
Like words cut and polished then set into a poem.
