” Relativity “

” When you are courting a nice girl, an hour seems like a second.  When you sit on a red-hot cinder, a second seems like an hour.  This is relativity. ” Albert Einstein

The rain more forlorn at four in the morning,
The moon more lonesome when awake in bed alone,
The grass greener when standing on the other side,
A cup of coffee better when having one with a friend,
The glass stands half-empty as well as half-full,
Success can be a failure and failure a success,
Time either hurtling by or slowly crawling past.
Like the perception of a moving train, everything is relative
With only two constants in the universe remaining:
The speed of light and this love I pledge to you.

About poeticmeditations

A 19th-century romantic poet living in the 21st-century. The Romantic poets, nib pens, candlelight, waistcoats, and pocket watches are a few of my favorite things.
