Arts and Crafts Festival

Spent the last two and a half weeks getting ready for last weekend’s arts and crafts festival making and printing woodblock images and notecard sets (see photo). Weather was pleasant (a tad chilly in the mornings). I met and talked to several interesting artisans (photographer/landscaper, potter and a weaver) and even sold a poetry broadsheet or two. A few people even stopped to read the sonnet, “Cabbage Moth” seen displayed on the far right of the photo. I hope it was at least the one poem they read that day. More people were interested in the crocheted baby booties being sold in the next booth which got me to wondering if society in general would somehow be better if more people read poetry. I like to think it would.

About poeticmeditations

A 19th-century romantic poet living in the 21st-century. The Romantic poets, nib pens, candlelight, waistcoats, and pocket watches are a few of my favorite things.
