Watched the Masterpiece/PBS “Wuthering Heights” on DVD the other night. Shot on location on the Yorkshire moors, it captured the haunting beauty and atmosphere of the Bronte novel.

By Poetic Meditations

One soul cleaved in twain by Fate;
Life unbearable without the other.
Wandering the brooding, rain-swept moors,
Reflecting the darkness of one tormented heart
Driven to cruel revenge by love betrayed;
A love surviving beyond the grave,
Taking them to dizzying heights of passion
Until in Death alone reunited at last.

About poeticmeditations

A 19th-century romantic poet living in the 21st-century. The Romantic poets, nib pens, candlelight, waistcoats, and pocket watches are a few of my favorite things.
