By PoeticMeditations

Indeed, tis true all the world’s a stage
And we, mere players, assigned a scripted role:
The hero, the villain, the victim or the fool;

Our lives destined for farce, tragedy, comedy,
Some badly written soap opera or burlesque.
But, no matter what, the show will go on.

And when the curtain lowers on the final scene,
What matters most is how well we played our parts
And how nobly or ignobly we will have died.

About poeticmeditations

A 19th-century romantic poet living in the 21st-century. The Romantic poets, nib pens, candlelight, waistcoats, and pocket watches are a few of my favorite things.
