The Making of the Poets: Byron and Shelley by Ian Gilmour

Just finished reading an interesting comparative biography about the young lives of Byron and Shelley by Ian Gilmour, a Conservative MP, who wrote about economics and politics. A portrait of the young artists as young men, it covers the young poets upbringing through graduation from university, ending in 1812, when Byron has just published Childe Harold’s Pilgrimage and Shelley beginning to settle down to his poetical work.
