No Light Shines Beneath the Door

No Light Shines Beneath the Door
By PoeticMeditations

No light shines beneath the door
Behind, my love, once did sleep.
No sound of footsteps on the floor
The empty silence long and deep.
Her voice no longer do I hear;
All my fears it would allay,
Music to my heart so dear,
Forever silenced by the grave.
Ponderous ticking of the clock
Weighs heavily upon this heart
Like some cruel, Sisyphean rock,
Marking each hour we must remain apart.
